About 2,000 songs were submitted to the national broadcaster TVE, and 20 were selected to participate in the final. To decide the winner, there was a 9 member jury: each member awarded points in the Eurovision style (12, 10, 8-1 points); then the televoting results of the Spanish public were added, making up the 25% of the total.
